Following the country’s long-term development plan “Vision 2050” launched in 2020, the Mongolian government launched the New Recovery Policy, the direction of which will shape the future of Mongolia. If successful, the Policy will transform the country from a supplier of raw materials to an industrialized economy, as well as reduce its vulnerability to climate and market shocks. Investments should benefit not only business, but also sustainable development. The Mongolia’s New Recovery Policy, launched in December 2021, aims to stimulate investment in a number of areas, including energy, border ports, industrialization, urban and rural regeneration, green development and public sector efficiency, and a list of development projects to implement the policy action program has been jointly approved.

Item 3.15 of this list refers to the construction of a “meat processing plant with a quarantine zone, and technological rehabilitation”, and the company Jargalant Makh Impex decided to invest in and implement this project. In this regard, a consulting agreement was concluded for the development of a feasibility study of the project with the consulting company BlackRock Partners and work began. This project will take the cooperation of stakeholders in the meat industry to a new level, eliminate the animal hygiene compliance difficulties faced by meat exports, improve the meat value chain evenly for each participant, and increase the value of animal meat in the domestic and foreign market. The technological and technical level of the meat industry will be transferred to the level of European food hygiene, quality and safety, the efficiency, productivity and quality of the system will be greatly improved, and the production of value-added goods and raw materials will be increased.
